Job Description

The Virginia State Inspector Technician is responsible for performing thorough state safety inspections, servicing, and repairing vehicles in accordance with all established standards and procedures. In addition, they may be assigned routine maintenance and repair work to ensure vehicles are in excellent working condition for our customers. This role requires strict adherence to Virginia state inspection laws and guidelines while delivering the highest quality service and customer satisfaction.

The ideal candidate has a valid Virginia State Inspection License and experience which may include: a high school diploma or GED, post-secondary automotive training, dealer-level or large facility experience, and/or additional certifications such as ASE (Automotive Service Excellence).

A valid driver’s license with a clean driving record, strong physical dexterity, and the ability to work productively in a fast-paced team environment are required. Candidates must also maintain a professional appearance, strong communication skills, and a customer-first attitude.

Responsibilities

  • Perform Virginia State Safety Inspections in compliance with all state regulations
  • Conduct routine service inspections, maintenance, and repairs on customer vehicles
  • Ensure all required documentation for inspections and repairs is accurate and compliant
  • Maintain shop cleanliness, safety standards, and assist with daily operations such as stocking and organizing inventory
  • Follow all company policies, procedures, safety, and environmental rules
  • Attend staff meetings, training sessions, and educational classes as required
  • Perform additional duties as assigned

  • Valid Virginia State Inspection License (required)
  • High school diploma or GED
  • Valid, unrestricted driver’s license with clean driving record
  • Professional, dependable, and safety-oriented
  • Strong communication and customer service skills
  • Ability to read and comprehend instructions
  • Basic computer and internet skills
  • Physical ability to bend, kneel, squat, stand, and lift heavy objects as needed
  • Prior automotive repair or inspection experience preferred
