Job Description:

Position Summary:

Essential Qualifications: 

The following qualifications are essential for success in this role:

  • Demonstrated proficiency gained from substantial experience working in professional kitchen environments, particularly in high-volume establishments.
  • Ability to oversee and manage the preparation, cooking, and plating of dishes, ensuring consistency, timeliness, and adherence to culinary standards during service.
  • Strong leadership qualities, including the ability to motivate, mentor, and train kitchen staff to uphold high standards of performance and professionalism.
  • Proficient in supervising and delegating tasks to kitchen staff, providing clear guidance, support, and direction as necessary for efficient kitchen operations.
  • Enforce proper food safety and sanitation practices, conducting regular inspections and training sessions for kitchen staff.
  • Maintain cleanliness, orderliness, and organization in all areas of the kitchen, including equipment, storage spaces, and workstations, to promote efficiency and safety.
  • Previous experience supervising kitchens/ sous chef experience preferred.
  • Proficient in English, with additional proficiency in Spanish considered a valuable asset.
  • Must be at least 18 years old.
  • Non-slip shoes are mandatory for a safe working environment (please note that company does not provide).
  • Legal authorization to work in the United States.
  • Reliable transportation is a must.

Proficiency Standards:

  • Endurance: Maintain stamina for extended periods to ensure consistent kitchen operations and optimal customer satisfaction.  
  • Leadership: Establish excellence in menu development and execution, fostering creativity in flavors and presentation.
  • Lifting: Demonstrate the ability to lift up to 50 pounds, facilitating the smooth handling of kitchen equipment, ingredients, and culinary creations.
  • Observation: Maintain keen observation skills to refine dish presentation and uphold the highest culinary standards.
  • Communication: Effectively communicate with kitchen staff and management to cooridnate workflow and maintain quality.
  • Dexterity: Skillfully handle kitchen tools and equipment to enhance the overall culinary experience.
  • Tolerance for Smoke and Heat: Work comfortably in hot and occasionally smoky environments to ensure smooth kitchen operations.
