Automotive Service Technician VA State Inspector "Nationwide Search", Lindsay Lexus of Alexandria is seeking automotive VA State and Emission Inspector, we offer relocation cost, plus we offer up to $5000 signing bonus to qualified candidates*.

We offer all brand new state of the art equipment, lifts, jacks, locker room and an incredible breakroom. We are seeking an experienced tech to join our team. VA State Inspector Service Technician

The Service Smog Technician services and repairs vehicles as assigned by management following all established standards and procedures. In addition, he or she may be assigned to conduct pre-delivery service on new vehicles to ensure excellent working order for the customer. We deliver the highest quality service while maintaining the highest level of customer satisfaction.

The ideal candidate has a high school diploma or GED, some post-secondary automotive training, at least one year of dealer-level or large facility experience, and certification by the National Institute for Automotive Service Excellence (ASE). An unrestricted driver's license and a clean driving record, a strong technical performance record, and strong physical dexterity and stamina to get the job done are required. Candidates must be able to work productively in a fast-paced team environment and must have a positive attitude, professional appearance, great communication skills, and the ability to deliver world class customer service.

Must have a VA State Inspector Certification / License or willing to obtain one. 


RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Diagnoses issues based on experience, analysis, and testing
  • Performs routine service inspections or tests and completes standard maintenance jobs
  • Repairs automobiles and light trucks as assigned
  • Maintains cleanliness of vehicles while performing service or repairs
  • Ensures that required documentation is complete and is in compliance with regulations and standards
  • Helps maintain shop appearance and safety standards and ensures the shop runs in an efficient manner by performing duties such as inventory stocking and other general functions
  • Follows all shop policy, procedure, safety, and environmental rules
  • Attends all staff meetings, trainings, and educational classes as required
  • Performs other duties as assigned
  • Smogs Vehicles


QUALIFICATIONS

  • ASE certification (or is willing to obtain certification)
  • High school diploma or GED required
  • Post-secondary automotive training or equivalent work experience
  • One year of dealer-level or large facility experience preferred
  • Broad scope of automotive mechanical/electrical knowledge
  • Unrestricted driver's license and clean driving record
  • Able to drive both automatic and standard-transmission vehicles
  • Excellent communication, customer service, and problem solving skills, including the ability to maintain composure under stress
  • Highly professional and dependable
  • Safety and customer service oriented
  • Basic computer and internet skills
  • Able to bend, kneel, squat, stand, and lift heavy objects as needed
  • Certified Smog License
Job Requirements:

Ideal candidates will have:
Experience in performing warranty and non-warranty State Inspections, diagnostic, maintenance, and repair service on various vehicle makes and models.

Ability to read and comprehend instructions
Ability to exercise good judgement
Valid State drivers license and good driving record

Required Education:
High school diploma or equivalent
Must have technical aptitude displayed by ASE certification
Technical or trade school degree preferred
