General Sales Manager - Athens, Ohio, United States

Don Wood Automotive Group is looking for a high-level operator to take ownership of our Hyundai store in Athens. This is not a plug-and-play GSM role. This is a leadership position for someone who wants to build, influence culture, and drive long-term performance—not just manage a desk.

What You’ll Be Responsible For

• Leading all variable operations (sales, F&I alignment, process execution)
• Building and mentoring a high-performing, accountable team
• Driving consistent retail growth, gross, and volume
• Creating a transparent, process-driven sales environment
• Partnering with executive leadership on strategy and vision
• Elevating customer experience to match long-term brand standards
• Managing New & Used Inventory – Acquisition, Reconditioning, Merchandising, Disposition
• Staff One-on-Ones – coaching & training to achieve individual + team goals
• Hiring Staff

• Proven success as a Sales Manager, GSM, GM, or high-level Automotive leader
• Strong leadership presence with the ability to earn buy-in, not demand it
• Process-oriented, but adaptable—knows when to push and when to coach
• High accountability standards—for yourself and others
