Position Summary:

Oakes Farms, Seed to Table is looking for a dedicated, creative Food and Beverage Manager to join our team. The responsibilities of the Food and Beverage Manager include managing food and customer complaints. To be a successful Food and Beverage Manager, you should have excellent customer service and problem-solving skills. Ultimately, top-notch Food and Beverage managers should be skilled at ordering just the right amount of inventory to last until the next delivery.

Essential Job Functions:

  • Adhering to the food and beverage budget.
  • Managing daily food and beverage operations.
  • Following food and safety regulations.
  • Maintaining positive customer relationships, processing complaints, and responding to customer needs.
  • Assisting with marketing events.
  • Creating and enforcing restaurant policies.
  • Responsible for staff development.
  • Maintained revenue and payroll budget.
  • To create a work environment that facilitates harmonious caring relationships, employee motivation, building morale, and teamwork by taking an active interest in the associate’s needs, assisting the associate in dealing with problems, providing support and encouragement, and promoting mutual trust and respect.
  • To know about the preparation and analysis of reservations and marketing for incentive businesses and group booking, promotions, and special packages.
  • Assist with interviewing, hiring, and scheduling processes for positions such as front-of-the-house cashiers, runners, bussers, and Expediters (expos).
  • Responsible for handling the scheduling of bussers and runners.
  • Delivers the professional greeting of customers to the highest standards.
  • Implements dynamic operational working procedures to support the delivery of service excellence.
  • Supervises the cleanliness and upkeep of the dining room and maintenance.
  • Responsible for any set up of food and beverage-related events.
  • Responsible for customer complaints related to food or customer service.
  • Ensures the delivery of exceptional front-of-house services by the associates.
  • Develops strong communication and departmental procedures to guide service implementation making improvements or changes where required.
  • Implements safe working practices to ensure the safety of associates and customers.
  • Understand and follow food safety and sanitation regulations.
  • Ensuring hospitality cashiers, food runners, and bussers stay on task at all times during their shifts.
  • Empowers associates to provide excellent customer service.  Ensures associates understand expectations.
  • Oversee the daily functions of the hospitality cashiers.

Qualifications:

  • Must have at least 5 years of experience in the hospitality industry, emphasizing food and beverages.
  • A culinary or food service management degree may be advantageous.
  • In-depth knowledge of the food industry.
  • Strong working knowledge of related computer software, including restaurant management software.
  • Successful pre-opening previous experience is a plus
  • Ability to adhere to budgets and meet financial targets.
  • Exceptional organizational, leadership, problem-solving, and communication skills.
  • Ability to forecast food and beverage needs.
  • Excellent customer service skills.
  • Great delegation skills.
  • The Candidate needs to speak English; Spanish is a plus. 

Physical Demands:

  • Ability to stand on your feet and climb up and down the stairs for several hours.
  • Ability to multi-task and work well under pressure.
  • Ability to work cohesively with the entire staff as a team.
  • Ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing.
