Experienced DMV Clerk

The Experienced DMV Clerk performs a wide range of administrative and office support duties associated with vehicle documentation.  Handles the legal transfer of documents for the Department of Motor Vehicles (DMV) and verifies that funds have been collected and the correct lien holder paid off before processing title applications. Reports on the status of any missing or problem titles, providing list of outstanding titles as needed 

The ideal candidate has two (2) years experience in a similar position. They can work in a fast-paced and challenging environment handling multiple projects and must have excellent communication, administrative, organizational, and computer skills. They must be detail-oriented and good with numbers and proficient with accounting software and with Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, and Outlook).

Responsibilities 

  • Transmits DMV items in an organized, efficient, timely manner
  • Prints, analyzes, and distributes reports as requested by management
  • Prepares and processes new and used car DMV information including out of state registrations
  • Processes duplicate title requests and loaner renewals
  • Troubleshoots and resolves specific problem titles, odometer discrepancies, power of attorney issues, etc.
  • Processes trade payoffs and follow-up on title status with lienholders
  • Works with sales and finance to ensure required documentation
  • Maintains dealer plate log, sales license log, DMV on hand plate inventory and one trip inventory
  • Performs other duties as assigned
Job Requirements:

Requirements 

  • High School diploma or GED preferred
  • Dealership and Reynolds and Reynolds experience a plus
  • Strong computer and internet skills
  • Excellent communication skills, verbal and written
  • One year of experience in a business office environment
  • Highly organized and detail oriented
  • Able to deal with confidential information appropriately
  • Strong attention to detail and interest in accuracy
  • Highly professional and dependable
  • Strong problem solving  and analytical skills
