Compliance Officer Assistant

The Compliance Officer Assistant is responsible for assisting in the implementation, monitoring, and enforcement of policies and procedures to ensure the dealership’s compliance with regulatory requirements and corporate compliance initiatives. This role supports the Compliance Officer by conducting audits, reviewing policies, and ensuring adherence to industry regulations. The position requires a proactive, detail-oriented professional with a strong understanding of automotive dealership compliance, including finance regulations, documentation, and risk management.

The Compliance Officer Assistant will also provide training and support to dealership staff, ensure all documentation meets federal and state guidelines, and travel as needed to dealership locations to oversee compliance adherence.

**Initial work location is in Canton, with plans to relocate the position to our new office in Ann Arbor**

Responsibilities 

  • Assist in implementing and enforcing dealership compliance policies and procedures.

  • Conduct compliance audits and inspections across multiple dealership locations.

  • Review transactions and documentation to ensure regulatory compliance.

  • Assist in training dealership staff on compliance-related matters.

  • Monitor and track policy adherence, reporting findings to senior management.

  • Assist in drafting compliance reports and making recommendations for improvements.

  • Stay updated on federal, state, and local regulations impacting dealership operations.

  • Support investigations into compliance violations and assist in corrective action plans.

  • Collaborate with sales, finance, and service departments to ensure regulatory compliance.

Job Requirements:

Requirements 

  • Experience: Minimum 5 years in automotive compliance, dealership operations, or a related field.

  • Knowledge: Strong understanding of automotive finance regulations, FTC guidelines, Red Flags Rule, OFAC compliance, and dealership policies.

  • Skills:

    • Excellent attention to detail and analytical skills.

    • Strong communication and training abilities.

    • Ability to work independently and collaboratively.

    • Sound judgment in handling sensitive information.

  • Technical Proficiency: Experience with dealership management software (DMS), compliance tracking tools, and Microsoft Office Suite.

  • Travel Requirement: Must be able to travel to various dealership locations.
