AUTOMOTIVE GLASS INSTALLATION TECHNICIAN

THE POSITION: As an Automotive Glass Installer/Technician, you will use a small array of power or hand tools to repair/replace automotive glass and/or various other windows and mirrors in a wide variety of vehicles.

Skills & Qualifications:
- Valid Driver's License
- Ability to communicate clearly and professionally with co-workers and management.
- Ability to read and write English.
- Demonstrates a commitment to high-quality service to internal and external customers.
Education and Experience:
- Current, valid driver’s license; satisfactory Motor Vehicle Report (MVR).
- Minimum 2+ years experience replacing automotive glass
- Calibration (static/dynamic), body shop (R&R/R&I) and flat glass experience is a plus
- High school diploma or general education degree (GED)
Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
- Inspect vehicles for damage prior to performing any type of work on the vehicle.
- Inspect all new glass for any imperfections prior to performing any type of work on the vehicle.
- Use of proper techniques to remove damaged glass without causing additional damage to vehicle.
- Use of proper techniques to install new glass.
- Handle glass in a safe manner.
- Effectively communicate with customers
- Complete necessary paperwork in a timely fashion
- Complete static and dynamic calibrations of forward facing cameras on a mobile basis depending on the type of calibration needed per OE standards
- Maintain communication with management and mobile service team to stay up to date on any job changes, cancellations, or additions
- Utilizes the proper techniques to ensure an OE standard, efficient, timely and quality service to LaFontaine customers
- Other duties as assigned by the body shop manager.
Physical Requirements:
- Must be able to stand for long periods of time.
- Must be able to frequently lift over 25 pounds.
- The noise level in the work environment is usually loud.
- Frequently required to bend, stoop, crouch, reach, scrub.
- Frequently, exposed to exhaust fumes or other airborne particles.
