AUTOMOTIVE DRIVER COORDINATOR

THE POSITION: The Driver Coordinator aids with setting up transportation and coordinating the drivers, documents, supplies etc.

Skills & Qualifications:

  • Current, Valid, Driver’s license; satisfactory Motor Vehicle Report (MVR) Required.
  • Apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions.
  • Problem solving
  • Ability to complete tasks on your own as well with a team.
  • Good work ethic organized, and positive attitude are a must

Education and Experience:

  • No retail experience is necessary.
  • High school diploma or the equivalent.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Schedule and Unscheduled pick-ups or drop-offs. 
  • Reviews and revises transportation schedules to ensure increased efficiency and to reduce costs.
  • Maintains driver accountability throughout.
  • Conducts inspections, assesses training needs and schedules for appropriate action.
  • Leads, directs, guides, and monitors the work of drivers.
  • Responds to requests for assistance by troubleshooting and providing solutions to driver-related problems.
  • Assesses training needs and facilitates on-going training to ensure maximum effectiveness.
  • Orients staff to department policies and procedures.
  • Provides input on staff evaluations.
  • Investigates situations and complaints and recommends solutions.
  • Aids in the planning, research and development, and implementation of department policies and procedures.
  • Coordinates special projects to accomplish department objectives and other tasks requested by the department manager.
  • Assists other department staff in driving abilities. 
  • May perform other related duties as assigned.

Physical Requirements:

  • The noise level in the work environment is usually loud.
  • Frequently required to bend, stoop, crouch, reach, and handle tools.
  • Occasionally requires the ability to lift 40 pounds of material.
  • Frequently works near moving mechanical parts.
  • Is potentially exposed to battery acid, gasoline, chemical cleaning materials or other toxic materials commonly found in a motor vehicle repair facility.
  • Frequently, exposed to exhaust fumes or other airborne particles.
