Agricultural Accounting Manager
The Agricultural Accounting Manager will play a crucial role in managing the company’s financial operations, ensuring accuracy, integrity, and compliance across all financial reporting and analysis.
This position will assist with payroll, invoices and maintaining compliance within our systems. This role will report directly to the Chief Financial Officer and oversee the finance department, including accounting, budgeting, and financial forecasting, while also ensuring that our financial strategies support our mission of advancing regenerative agriculture practices.
Experience working in a dynamic workplace, along with experience in business, administrative and accounting functions. Experience in inventory systems, familiarity with GAAP, and experience with Quick Books online are all required.
Responsibilities
- Oversee all financial activities, including accounting, AP/AR, payroll, treasury, budgeting, and financial reporting
- Prepare and review monthly and annual financial statements, ensuring compliance with accounting standards and regulations
- Manage cash flow, ensuring adequate funds are available for operational needs
- Develop and implement financial policies and procedures to enhance internal controls and efficiencies
- Prepare detailed financial reports to assist in strategic decision-making by the executive team
- Collaborate with other departments to analyze financial performance and support budgeting processes
- Lead the annual financial review process and liaise with external auditors as well as tax preparers
- Monitor and manage financial risks to protect the company’s assets
- High school diploma or GED
- Familiar with GAAP
- Experience with inventory systems
- Familiarity and experience with Metrc: Cannabis Compliance Tracking System and Software a plus.
- QuickBooks Accounting
- Experienced with business applications, including payroll, scheduling, and accounting software
- Excellent interpersonal skills to interact professionally with customers, vendors, and staff
- Strong organization skills, able to multi-task, and can manage time to meet frequently changing deadlines in a fast-paced environment
- Neat, clean, and professional appearance
- Highly professional and dependable
- Microsoft Office Software Suite working knowledge required.
